Triangulation method
A CDR gives one cell ID per call/SMS. Each cell ID = one base-station sector with an azimuth wedge (~120° in GSM, ~65° in LTE). Single-cell record accuracy in dense urban Karachi: ~300 m to 3 km radius, depending on cell density. Triangulation uses 3+ cells at the same moment. Each cell converts to a wedge; the intersection of wedges = the subject position, narrowing to ~50–200 m.
This dataset has single-cell per row. Multi-cell would give true triangulation (circle-3-solver). I’ve built the cell tower centroid map so you can see coverage and spot-check positions.
